The musical moments that SNL has created in its past 5 decades are as recognizable as some of its biggest sketches, so it was only right that part of the SNL50 celebrations would include a concert event that was fit for the occasion.
Broadcast live from New York’s Radio City Music Hall on NBC this past Friday, on Valentine’s Day, SNL50: The Homecoming Concert was a mix of performances from past musical guests, iconic songs from the show, and new editions of classic sketches.
Below are my favorite performances, in other words, the Top 5 performances of SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.
They didn’t make the cut, but shout out to Cher, the Backstreet Boys, and Jack White!
Arcade Fire, David Byrne, St. Vincent – “Heroes”
Bad Bunny – “Baile Inolvidable” & “DbTmF”
The Lonely Island Musical Medley
Robyn and David Byrne – “Dancing On My Own” (my favorite performance)
Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer Bring Back Marty Culp and Bobbi Mohan-Culp
