Rusty Williams Album ‘Grand Man’ Unearthed by Zac Farro & his Granddaughter, Hayley Williams, of Paramore

Having a famous musician granddaughter must be pretty dope, especially if they help revive your own dreams of being a musician. At least that’s something Rusty Williams gets to enjoy as he’s releasing his debut album at 78 thanks to the help of Paramore’s Zac Farro & Hayley Williams, his granddaughter.

The album entitled Grand Man will be released on February 14th via Farro’s label Congrats Records. As a press release states, Hayley Williams was influenced by her grandfather Rusty’s music playing and knew that he used to make music but hadn’t heard any of it until it was unearthed recently.

Along with sharing the news of the unearthed album, Williams is releasing the album’s lead single “Knocking (At Your Door).” Stream the new, old track below.

The Paramore members shared some words about the project:

Hayley Williams:

So many people our age are mining these albums for tones and things you can’t even replicate… And Grandat has a way of cutting to the core of a feeling, and not overcomplicating it. Which we tend to do, because the world is hard. It’s nice when you can hear something plain and simple and know that it is true.

Zac Farro:

I thought that it was a crime that these songs were sitting there on the shelf.
