Dopest Holiday Songs of 2024

‘Tis the season for Mariah Carey and Wham! to dominate speakers all over, but holiday music doesn’t start and end with them, so I’ve put together a list of the dopest new tracks and covers to come out this season.

This Christmas, get in that holiday spirit with a fresher twist with my picks for the dopest holiday songs of 2024.

Bleachers – “Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call”

This one is not exactly a merry tune. Jack Antonoff said about the song via Instagram that it is for “everyone who experiences the holidays as a time to clean out those who have done you wrong.”

Coco Jones – “Santa Is Me”

This season goes well with R&B, and our latest example is Coco Jones’ contribution to holiday music this year. This song is all about treat yourself therapy, which all that much more convincing the listener to indulge in this when you hear her say it.

Conan Gray – “Holidays”

This is one of those more somber numbers that remind you that this season isn’t all cheer and joy to everyone, but rather a time to reflect on life.

GloRilla & Kehlani – “Xmas Time”

Glo capping a dope year by collabing on a Christmas track with Kehlani further proves that the Memphis rapper will get your attention one way or the other. I enjoy the way Glo’s rapping and Kehlani’s singing work with each other to build tension and then find serenity through sweeter sounds.

Jessie Reyez – “MERRY NOTHIN”

Some years, it’s not our year, and nothing can make all that feel worse than going through a breakup during the holidays. If you need to escape to a place where you can comfortably complain and forget about all the jolliness around you, this is your anthem.

Laufey – “Santa Baby”

This song sounds like it was made for Laufey’s syrupy, sweet vocals. Her playful delivery and the whimsical Jazzy production accompanying it make this a cover that deserves to be on your holiday song rotation every year from now on.

Saweetie – “I Want You This Christmas”

This time of year isn’t just about the holidays, it’s also cuffing season. Saweetie’s R&B tune about getting down with somebody for the holidays is the kind of song you send that special someone you’re trying to unwrap, and we’re not strictly talking about presents.
