Tinashe brought her Match My Freak World Tour to Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, bringing to the stage all the momentum that has followed her thanks to her hit “Nasty.”
I’ve seen Tinashe a handful of times throughout her career, from Lollapalooza to SXSW, and something that I will always have to point out is that this Cali singer by way of Kentucky will never not bring it. Like a proper Pop & R&B star, choreography is essential to her stage show and she makes sure that each piece is captivating and will get a reaction from the crowd.
My favorite part of the show was the moment one of her dancers grabbed an old-school handheld camera and projected on the LED screens behind them the action going on onstage, including a heartwarming moment with Tinashe sharing the lens with her fans like we were all a part of a home movie.
