Day 1 of Pitchfork Music Festival 2024 is officially in the books, leaving us in attendance with plenty of highlights from each performer that hit the stage today.
It’s hard for me to pick out my favorite performance of the first day, but if I had to choose I’d be stuck between Yaeji and Jeff Rosenstock. I was familiar with some of the hype and support surrounding Yaeji, but seeing her perform gave me all the evidence I needed to validate her that fandom. The South Korean artist by way of New York dazzled with minimalist production, relying on little more than a pair of backup dancers (and at one point, a rolling chair) to create eye-catching choreo that brought to life the feeling of listening to her music.
Jeff Rosenstock, I was not familiar with your game.
