The final day of the Lyrical Lemonade and SPKRBX-presented Summer Smash presented wild sets, tumultuous weather, and a closing run of artists that could stand up against any other modern major music festival lineup.
After a batch of scattered downpours in the late afternoon the festival got churning once again as the most anticipated few artists reset to take the stage. Although some sets were abbreviated, the SS crew did a wonderful job of getting each artist on stage for an unmatched evening of music.
Following a wild compact run of Lil B, Ken Car$on, Babytron, Denzel Curry, JID, Lil Yachty, and YG Marley, Chicago’s most prolific drill rapper Chief Keef took the stage for a comeback set like none other. Featuring songs from some of his early 2010s mixtapes all the way to tracks off of his brand-new LP Almighty So 2, this set truly embodied how communal and engrained the hip-hop scene is in Chicago.
Check out a quick photo recap of day three below and be sure to keep an eye out for our official day-by-day recaps, they’ll be rolling out through the weekend and early next week. Til next year, Summer Smash!
