Danny Brown’s ‘Quaranta’ tour rolled through Chicago last week as the Detroit legend blessed the historic Metro stage once again. We were fortunate to get the opportunity to be up close and personal with the seasoned MC and there wasn’t a single dull moment to report about. His set was comprised of nearly 25 cuts that kept the crowd undeniably active throughout.
Danny walking out to the title track of his latest album Quaranta set the tone for a thoroughly enjoyable evening from Danny. This was the second time I captured pictures of Danny at the Metro and the fourth time in Chicago – it truly seems like he feels at home whenever he’s in the 312.
Danny’s comfortability and confidence on the stage are unmatched as he proved, a long time ago, that he deserves his fan base and every ounce of success he earns as he’s undeniably put the time and effort into a wildly eclectic discography.
He has also surpassed the year mark on his journey to sobriety, I think I can speak for the whole PoD family that we’re proud and happy to see Danny in such a great spot after nearly a decade in the rap game. Although we loved him and his art during the early ‘XXX’ days, his growth and progression over the years. He promised that he’d eventually be back stronger than ever and he most definitely spoke that into existence.
After proclaiming his love for charred Polish sausages and Chicago in general, Danny effortlessly ran through a dope variety of his discography, playing songs from his debut, all the way back to his latest full-length to conjure up a wonderful set.
Danny has about a quarter of his ‘Quaranta’ tour left, don’t sleep if you’re in one of his remaining cities!
