Zack Fox’s visit to one of Chicago’s most historic venues, the Metro, was nothing short of spectacular. I had no idea how much fun the homies and I were in for before pulling up to Wrigleyville for the evening.
Sky Jetta opened the show up with an effortlessly dope DJ set that warmed the crowd up through a diverse range of vibes. She’s truly one of the dopest out right now on the decks, every set is a new experience so be sure to keep an eye on where she’s at around the world throughout 2024.
By the time Zach Fox took the stage at 9, the 1100-cap landmark was filled to the brim with fans for this sold-out Wednesday night show. He opened up with a banging intro with “The Bean Kicked In” which had the joyous Metro moshes swinging in full force and continuing throughout the evening. He sprinkled in three unreleased tracks throughout his set as well as oldies but goodies like “Square Up”, “IHY2LN”, and “Marinate”.
Zack’s standalone stage presence allowed for an intimate show that featured plenty of memorable moments for each attendee. It was just him, his SP, and plenty of jokes in between tracks – all that was necessary for a dope evening.
After running through my favorite track of his, “fafo”, ZF closed his set out with “Jesus Is the One (I Got Depression)” and left us with a few final words: “This was the most amazing crowd I’ve seen in a while, I’ll be back soon.”
Hopefully, he does come back to Chicago soon. I’ll be in the house if he does.
