Chicago artist and multi-instrumentalist NNAMDÏ has dropped a beautiful and cathartic track titled “Sudafed,” his first single since his acclaimed 2022 project ‘Please Have A Seat.’
“Sudafed” is the first track off the ‘Please Have A Seat Deluxe Edition’ slated to release on February 24, 2023. In the most literal sense, the track details the experience of breaking down on the CTA and contemplating one’s decisions. The opening line of the track NNAMDÏ exclaims, “I had all my bags on the CTA, And it broke down, Then I broke down.”
In a statement released about the single NNAMDÏ explained, “Sudafed is a song about being at your wits end and how sometimes it makes you react in ways you don’t want to and aren’t proud of. It’s about hitting rock bottom and vowing to yourself to never get there again.”
The single’s release is accompanied by an animated lyric video created by the talented Janelle Dewitt; the video does a great job at capturing the track’s essence both lyrically and instrumentally.
This track is a great expression of NNAMDÏ’s evolution as a storyteller and vocalist making us very excited for what’s to come on ‘Please Have A Seat Deluxe Edition.’
