Valee has made a thunderous addition to his discography with a 35-minute listening experience that is equally whimsical as it is impressive. It’s safe to say that Valee fans have patiently waited for Valee’s newest offering since his last release in 2019, and he undoubtedly delivered with ‘VacAbuLarEE’, a 15-track compilation of bizarre-but-dope raps and ravishing production. The Chicago-bred artist has reached new heights as he teaches listeners exactly what his own vocabulary sounds like.
I stumbled across Valee’s third mixtape ‘2:22’ circa 2017, and his unique style quickly caught and held my attention. Across other mixtapes and his 2019 EP ‘Runnin Rich’, Valee had already established a well-rounded offering of music years ago. Now, in 2022, he’s back, and seemingly better than ever. After running this album back several times already, it’s clear that Valee is still effortlessly doing his thing.
Some of my favorite flows off this come on “Bell Biv Devoe”, “Laflare”, and “Pineapple”. Valee consistently dances around the various production with ease; this album is truly fun to listen to. It’s simply different, and this different sounds damn good.
Every track offers listeners a unique bounce to enjoy. Most of these cuts are relatively uptempo, but Valee displays his versatile skills on downtempo tracks such as “Alpina Beama”, “Free Willy”, and “Kelly Green” (feat. Na-Kel Smith). The rest are guaranteed to get your head nodding. ‘VacAbuLarEE’ features Valee tapping into several different producers, including AYOCHILLMANNN, SAY CHEEZZ, Go Yard Sounds, KiltKarter, Wheres15, STAN LANE, and DylVinci. Featured in this project are Na-Kel Smith, KiltKarter, and ZelooperZ.
Shoutout Valee and the team around him. Bravo. Stream ‘VacAbuLarEE’ below!
