Although it’s not an entirely new release, “Bridgework” from Toronto-based producer Bruce Trail is undoubtedly the full embodiment of “fresh”. This 7-minute, 6-year-old track recently came to my attention and I have returned to it dozens of times since first hearing it.
There are so many evolutions and surprises within these seven minutes, I could truly listen to this cut on repeat for quite a long time. I absolutely love how Bruce switches it up from the typical four-on-the-floor with some unique low-end rhythmic patterns. I feel as though house producers often get stuck with a pounding four-count kick so whenever a producer deviates from that, it definitely adds some flare.
