North Coast Music Festival has kicked off with a bang at Seatgeek Stadium with an insane lineup throughout the first day that surely has fans itching to return for Day 2.
Experiencing Friday of North Coast 22 emphasized how diverse the lineup really is. House sets were of no shortage as 128 BPM tracks rang the speakers at the Canopy stage with DJs like CID, Fisher, Eli & Fur, as well as Moksi who had an early afternoon set in the Stadium. All the heavy wubs remained housed at the Vega stage where sick sets were performed by Level Up, Rusko, Boogie T and Subtronics just to name a few. The Stadium held the magic with killer sets from the likes of Madeon, Gryffin and main stage closer Armin Van Buuren.
My favorite set of the day was Fisher’s 2-hour bender to close out the Canopy. His deep catalog shined and brought the hype, especially while he was spinning “Losing It” and the accurately named “Wanna Go Dancin’.” He closed his set with his newly released rendition of Bob Sinclairs early classic cut “World Hold On” which brought a vibe… Fisher was undoubtedly a great way to put the party to a close.
Another set to highlight was Madeon’s 8:25 slot at the Stadium stage. Madeon has been perfecting his live set for some time now and it truly shows. The colorful and sometimes haunting visuals premiere a perfect spectacle to the already emotionally rich music. I cannot recommend catching a Madeon set enough.
To scratch the aforementioned itch for day 2, here are some photos I took from day 1 to hold you over!
