Cate Le Bon has dropped a new single today entitled “Typical Love,” which arrives along with a new music video. The stand-alone song came out same sessions as Le Bon’s Feb. 2022 album Pompeii, and it boasts some fine experimental production to vibe to.
The visual was co-directed by Stefan Ramírez Pérez alongside Le Bon’s longtime collaborator filmmaker Phil Collins in Cologne, Germany and it was filmed on 16mm as it set out to pay homage to Henri-Georges Clouzot’s unfinished 1964 film Inferno.

Le Bon said of the new song via a press release:
‘Typical Love’ was a product of a rare jam session with dearest genius friend, Stella Mozgawa,” Le Bon says. “The outline, written on bass along to one of Stella’s infectious grooves, was taken into the Pompeii sessions where I disassembled and reassembled it many times but it always felt like a second cousin to the other tracks so was put aside for a rainy day.
