Let me just start off by saying I really dig this! Arcade Fire hit the UK after playing SNL to shoot some performances for BBC Music. Along with playing their songs “The Lightning I, II” and “Age of Anxiety II (Rabbit Hole)” [below], Win Butler, Régine Chassagne, and the rest of the gang played a cover of Harry Styles’ hit track “As It Was.”
With Butler on lead vocals and Chassagne stepping up for the bridge, the band’s rendition is largely faithful to the original but with a punch. I would have loved if it packed a little more of that Indie instrumentation that made them famous, but it’s still such a good cover.
