We were present on night 1 of Summer Walker’s two-show stint at the famous Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Our city was part of a select few to be part of the singer/songwriter’s limited run of 2022 shows, which made coming out to these concerts that much more special and she made sure to not disappoint with everyone she brought along for the tour.
Marv, Double XL was in charge to open things up and one of the stand-out moments from his set was when he called up a random girl from the crowd and serenaded her. Next up was No1-Noah to keep good vibes going. At one point during his set he went down from the stage in his set to appreciate the crowd’s energy up close, and when he performed “White Tee” it was hands-down the fans’ favorite with everyone singing along.
Moving to the top of the night’s billing, Rubi Rose definitely pumped the crowd up with her heated performances, dancing and twerking with her backup dancers.
When it was finally time for our headliner to come out, the crowd was more than excited to see Summer Walker do her thing. Summer came out with a huge stage setup of visuals on the monitors, standing on top of a high platform with her band overlooking everyone. She came down from the high rise for a little intimate moment, lit a candle, sat down on a chair and sang “Session 32” while playing the guitar. Some of the other highlights had to be performances of songs off her hit 2021 album Still Over It like “Toxic,” “Insane,” and “No Love.”
Check out below some pics of what went down that night.
