Sitting on their thrones upon the summit of the progressive house mountain, Kaskade and Deadmau5 recently released their newest collaboration in “Escape”. The two already created a stepping stone in the electronic landscape back in 2008 with their timeless track “I Remember”. Now, 14 years later, they combine forces again to create a formal duo in Kx5. “Escape” is the first single off their soon-to-come 4-track EP which was confirmed in their interview with Santa Monica Radio DJ Jason Bentley.
The song features vocals from Hayla in the forefront, and throughout it, layers of synths accompany the iconic Deadmau5 arpeggio. This new Kx5 track puts me in a mood to just vibe out with my head on a swivel bouncing back and forth. You know a song is good when my only gripe about it is the track’s length. Thankfully, the Mau5 confirmed there would be different versions to be released, including an extended mix, just like “I Remember” which has a 10-minute vocal mix included on Deadmau5’s 2008 album ‘Random Album Title’.
The two are set to debut their first show together at EDC Vegas 2022 at the end of May. With no set dates on the versions of “Escape” or the EP overall, we are, for now, left with a track that will be remembered as an instant classic. Check this track out below!
