Westside Chicago native and Pivot Gang member Frsh Waters has blessed us with newest single “Icarus.” While “Icarus” is only his fifth solo track posted on digital streaming platforms, he appears multiple times on Pivot Gang collaborative tapes and has been an important member of the collective since its inception.
The track itself features a Lo-Fi guitar driven instrumental produced by Amsterdam based producers Yasper and Glimlip; there also seems to be some sort of vinyl sample on the track evident from some stumble cracking in the back. The lyrics pose a message similar to the Greek mythology story of Icarus but through Frsh Water’s own perspective of the dangers of flying to close to the sun and the lows of never reaching it at all.
The track is fire, and we are excited to hear what further solo work Frsh Waters has in store for us in the future.
