Beirut Announce Compilation Project, ‘Artifacts,’ and Share “Fisher Island Sound”

Beirut are announcing today their new double LP compilation Artifacts, an ambitious project that will take listeners on a lifelong journey on the group, from frontman Zach Condon first attempts at creating music as a 14-year old to the Beirut we know today.

Artifacts will be released digitally on January 28, 2022 and physically on March 4, 2022 via Condon’s Pompeii Records. Pre-order is available HERE. The compilation will feature never-before-released tracks, early works, EPs, and B-sides.

Ahead of that date, Beirut are sharing a dope previously-unreleased track “Fisher Island Sound.” Check out the jangly guitars and high-spirited vibe of the song below.

Zach Condon shares via a press release:

When the decision came to re-release this collection, I found myself digging through hard drives looking for something extra to add to the compilation. What started as a few extra unreleased tracks from my formative recording years quickly grew into an entire extra records-worth of music from my past, and a larger project of remixing and remastering everything I found for good measure.
