The past twenty-four hours have been hectic in the Kanye-verse, whether it be Tyler the Creator collaborations or secret listening parties, here’s all we know about Kanye West’s rumored upcoming tenth studio album.
Kanye’s reappearance into the world began just last week upon the release of Pop Smoke’s newest album Faith in which Kanye is featuring on the third track. Kanye was also spotted at a Big3 game (Ice Cube’s basketball league) this week.
Just a day after this, fans begin to find recordings of a secret listening party Kanye threw on Sunday for an upcoming project. These rumors were mostly confirmed by host of Respectfully Justin, Justin Laboy through a tweet detailing how Kanye played him and Kevin Durant the finished project. Kanye’s longtime collaborator and rapper/ producer Consequence then went on to tweet a video of Tyler the Creator in the studio with Kanye with one of his notorious whiteboards in the back that appears to have a ten track track list written on it.
Consequence also went on to tweet a confirmation that the album is in fact titled DONDA (for now) and Kanye has reserved the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta this Thursday for an official listening event. The only further information that we have is that the project is rumored to feature Lil Baby, Pusha T, Westside Gunn, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and Baby Keem.
Those who have heard the album have also been quoted saying that DONDA is the album of the year, and that he has “changed the sound of music.” All this information leaves me with high hopes although knowing Kanye anything is possible at this point.
