New Billie Eilish. The ever-rising star has delivered her song and accompanying music video, “NDA,” the latest peek into her forthcoming album Happier Than Ever – out worldwide on July 30 via Darkroom/Interscope Records.
While Eilish’s recent new music drops like “Lost Cause” and “Therefore I Am” have more Pop leanings, “NDA” takes a darker direction right from the screeching effect in the beginning of the track to the machine-like beat and the droning instrumentation. I really the dig the soft-loud dynamic on the song, especially when you get those usually-pristine Billie vocals now getting the heavy auto-tune treatment and those getting paired with Nine Inch Nails-like drumming.
The music video was directed by Billie Eilish herself, and she’s the lead strutting calmly towards the camera as 25 professional stunt drivers ride in the flanks past her. The video was shot in one take, and used no stunt doubles or VFX for the cars.
