Toronto based duo 88GLAM has finally released the first installment of their long awaited album “Heaven Can Wait, Far From God” compiled into a three track EP.
From speculations of a breakup, to the confirmation that they were dropped from The Weeknd’s XO label and Republic Records, there was little hope for the group’s future in many fan’s eyes. All of this changed after fans were warned that new music was on the way hinted in an Instagram post earlier this May.
This three track EP ended up arriving this past Friday and the public reception is quite good. I personally really enjoyed the leading track “Five Stars” with its ethereal beat and smooth and ambient vocals; this track was also coupled with a video that you can find attached to the bottom of this article. The other two tracks Clockwork and Wockstar go similarly hard and are definitely worth a listen.
In a YouTube Live earlier this week we received word from 88GLAM member Derek Wise that we will be receiving the full length record in August, as well as some further collabs with NAV and possibly Don Toliver, someone Derek receives a lot of comparisons to.
