Just a couple of days after announcing his next album The Off-Season, J. Cole has delivered new track “i n t e r l u d e.”
For the new song, the Dreamville leader raps an extended verse with bars about surviving and overcoming the trauma and the violence that feels like it’s always on the horizon. On lyrical side, the lines that stood out the most was his reference to Pimp C and Nipsey Hussle dying at the age of 33, the same age as Jesus.
The energetic beat starts off a bit sinister and closes with a more nostalgic direction, drawing from the Blues and Motown in quite a dope way. Gotta give it up to T-Minus & Tommy Parker for their production work here.
Cole fans rejoice, this track is fuego for the speakers. Stream J. Cole’s new track “i n t e r l u d e” below.
