Doja Cat has shared her new track and video with SZA entitled “Kiss Me More.” The song, which helps Doja Cat kick off the campaign for the release of her next project, has a similar tempo as her smash hit “Say So” but trades that song’s Disco stylings for a beach-y production that will also get you grooving until the sun sets.
It also appears to borrow inspiration from the hook for Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical,” replicating that 80’s hit’s high-pitch delivery to make “Kiss Me More” a song that will also sink its teeth in you.
The accompanying music video was directed by Warren Fu and it is set in the world being created in Doja Cat’s next album. The video revolves around a pink palette, following a wandering astronaut on a canoe that appears to become the luckiest man around when he’s surrounded by both of the song’s protagonists, before it’s revealed it was just a simulation.
“Kiss Me More” will appear on Doja Cat’s forthcoming album Planet Her, which will be released summer 2021 via Kemosabe/RCA.
