The album accompaniment to Judas and the Black Messiah, a new movie from Warner Bros. Pictures inspired by true events and the life of Fred Hampton, has arrived today to coincide with the film’s premiere.
Released via Six Course Music Group/RCA Records, Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album kicks off with a powerful speech from Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. and followed-up by songs from a stellar cast including Nipsey Hussle, Jay-Z, Nas, H.E.R., Black Thought, Masego, JID, Rapsody, and A$AP Rocky.
Considering the subject matter of the film, it was vital to have a major Chicago component to this album and the choices definitely showed up to rep us well. (Honorary Chicagoan) Smino, Saba, BJ the Chicago Kid, Lil Durk, G Herbo, Polo G, and Bump J make sure to have the city’s musical essence lead the way on the project.
