Julia Bhatt recently released “1:30”, an impressive single that marks her first appearance on PoD. This track comes four months after the release of her debut EP, 2 Steps Back. Although the Miami-native has constantly posted acoustic covers of all types of music on her Instagram for a few years now, she’s quickly developing a unique sound with her original music.
“1:30” is a collaborative effort from both Julia and Elliot Jacobson, a producer who has worked with Ingrid Michaelson, Elle King, and others. This song’s synthesizer-based production offers listeners an interesting minute-and-a-half that experimentally pushes the boundaries of ‘bedroom-pop’. I really dig this cut.
Per the press release, “‘1:30’ touches on modern pop elements a little bit more than her previous releases.”
Julia adds, “I feel like this song reflects modern music; more specifically, modern pop a little more, and I want to see how generational preference affects the song’s performance.”
