I’m immensely excited to feature the homie Joyfriend on our page once again. Since releasing Dog Fight – EP in 2020, Chicago-based creative Joyfriend released a dope video for the title track, and he’s now back in 2021 with a fresh release. “Shiverbone (Slow Is a Quite Lake)” is a beautiful cut that sonically evolves throughout its four-minute extent. Acoustic guitars resonate playfully while Joyfriend offers tranquil vocal layering. The energy that builds up as this relatively melancholic track progresses is impressive.
This single is accompanied by “The South Dakota Song”, an acoustic track that marks another stellar offering from the artist.
