Chicago-based producer BoatHouse recently released his latest effort, a 19-minute offering that spans across seven tracks. BoatHouse has been a staple within Chicago’s hip-hop scene for years now; this tape stays on course with his unwavering consistency.
‘In Velvet: Vol. 1’ is an impressive compilation that was released under Striker Life and distributed through Closed Sessions. Each production featured on ‘In Velvet: Vol 1’ sounds full and boisterous; his braggadocious production style never seems to lose momentum. BoatHouse showcases his versatility as a producer in impressive fashion, this tape mixes hard-hitters such as “Cassius” and “Snowfall” with more melancholic cuts like “Desierto”. Past those, the immensely dope “Suckers” with Bun B has been in my rotation for months now. I’d highly recommend bumping this project if you haven’t checked it yet!
