The Strokes have released their new music video for “The Adults Are Talking,” off their acclaimed 2020 album The New Abnormal.
The video was directed by Roman Coppola and it stars the band in full gear facing a squad of robots in a futuristic baseball match, and they don’t fare too well as you would imagine. Julian Casablancas has been quite vocal in the last few years about his political leanings and those beliefs are reinforced with this clip about how trying to keep up with machines is futile. Even though this new abnormal is bleak, the band closes the video showing that it’s still important to celebrate humanity’s small victories.
The new music video comes after The Strokes received their first-ever Grammy nomination, with The New Abnormal being nominated in the Best Rock Album category.
