Hayley Williams has returned for another Tiny Desk Concert for NPR, except this time as a solo artist, and she’s performing from a home set. The Paramore singer wasn’t playing music with her band, but the supporting cast was impressive for its own reasons with Joey Howard on bass and Julien Baker on guitar, plus Becca Mancari on synths and Aaron Steele on drums.
The setlist comprised of three great cuts from Williams’ debut album, Petals for Armor. My favorite performance was the tropically-tinged rendition of “Dead Horse,” which rides a nice groove a la Led Zeppelin’s “D’yer Mak’er” but with a lot more kick to it.
