POD is back at it with the dope premieres, and our latest is devoted to none other than NY-based artist Jak Lizard and his new track “Bad Dancer.” The song features sibling band Lawrence and it was executive produced by Grammy-award winning group Brasstracks.
The track is an ode to the old “dance like nobody’s watching” saying. It is propelled by warm and inviting Pop production with hints of Gospel while Jak Lizard’s vocals injects it with a lot of heart. Those elements combine for a song that will undoubtedly make you feel good.

Jak shared some words with us on how the track came to life:
To me, this is a song about the moment you let go of your insecurity and look at yourself in a light and humorous and loving way. Working with Lawrence and Brasstracks in the same room was nothing short of a magical songwriting experience. The way Clyde and Gracie Lawrence go about lyric writing is precise and combined with Ivan Jacksons attention to detail, I feel like we made the perfect pop song.
“Bad Dancer” will appear on Jak’s forthcoming EP, which is due to be released this fall via After School/ADA.
