If you’ve followed the local scene as well as any of the politics impacting the city lately, you may have heard about Chicago artists Sen Morimoto and Tasha’s respective performances for the Millennium Park At Home Series not hitting the air as scheduled. Sen’s performance was pulled because he refused to remove the opening comments that were critical of Mayor Lori Lightfoot‘s handling of the Chicago protests and the recent activity by CPD. Tasha pulled her performance in solidarity.
Today, August 5, Sen Morimoto and Tasha will be streaming their live performances at 8pm CST via a Live Premiere on YouTube.
Both artists are also pulling the audio from their performances and will be using it to create a digital album to be released on August 7 for another edition of Bandcamp Friday. The Tasha and Sen Morimoto Live Sessions album’s proceeds will go to The Prison And Neighborhood Arts Project.
