After a bit of a quiet spell since dropping critically-acclaimed album Bandana in June of 2019, Freddie Gibbs has suddenly announced his first solo effort of 2020. Gibbs is set to release Alfredo alongside legendary producer The Alchemist tonight. With features including Rick Ross, Benny the Butcher, Tyler the Creator, and Conway the Machine, this effort will undoubtedly turn some heads.
Freddie has seemingly decided to only drop one single before the release of this album; “1985” is a track featuring Freddie’s hi-hat-like cadence as well as his vivid storytelling. Some really dope visuals capture the track’s mood well, the video seems to tie the cut together perfectly.
I really can’t wait to listen to some new Gibbs tonight.
