While on the road with Sango and SAVON, we met up with Grand Rapids rapper Waldo during the tour’s stop in Chicago at Bottom Lounge. You may recognize Waldo for his work for Soulection and A.G.O., and during our chat backstage we discussed his part of those collectives, being on the Quiet Storm Sessions Tour with his friends, performing tracks off his 2019 album Grove, and what’s in store for the rest of year after finishing the tour.

Since we met, Waldo released the video for Sango-produced track “God Nem.” Waldo said in the press release about the visual:
Shooting this video was a breath of fresh air. We wanted to bring the viewers into our world, and we got the opportunity to do so. Michigan culture has a voice, and I feel like we were able to represent a piece of that. Together the pair’s music has been described as a tantalizing sound that pairs ethereal flows and pungent poetics with scintillating production.
