Spain’s latest cross-over superstar, Rosalía has released a new song called “Dolerme.” La Rosalía has taken a much more conventional and contemporary approach with this one, ramping up the use of auto-tune when the vocals need further accenting while the gentle strum of an acoustic guitar drives the overall tone of the track. Something different from how she tends to incorporate musical elements of her native Spain.
The lyrics tackle the unnerving feeling of losing yourself in fitting your significant other’s interests, only to not have that reciprocated nor even appreciated, to the degree that it makes you want to race down to hit rock bottom. While the music may seem like it’s delving more into Pop tendencies, a look into the lyrics and this cover art suddenly makes a lot more sense.
