Drake made a surprise record drop on Saturday, delivering his new tracks “When to Say When” and one that will make for quite the engaging discussion here in our hometown, “Chicago Freestyle.”
Both tracks are packaged together in a video, which finally shows why the Toronto rapper was seen out in New York and visiting the Marcy projects. The Marcy Houses is perhaps best known in the Hip Hop community for being a former residence of the legendary Jay-Z, whose “Song Cry” was sampled for “When to Say When.” The production for “Chicago Freestyle” wasn’t as on-theme though he did keep it Midwestern by interpolating Eminem’s “Superman.”
