The wait for new music from Bright Eyes has officially concluded with today’s release of “Persona Non Grata.” Connor Oberst and the rest of the crew’s first new track in nine years now kicks off their campaign to the release of a new album sometime this year.
The band made a reference to their new work in a letter they penned to share with the song, addressing the uncertainty the coronavirus has brought everyone by affirming that they “will be releasing a new album this year no matter what.” Reading that and the fact that “Persona Non Grata” already sounds like an instant classic, today is looking pretty alright to me.
