Following the release of the spectacular collaborative track with Steve Lacy and Steve Arrington, “Black Qualls”, Thundercat is back with his second single off of his forthcoming release, It Is What It Is.
“Dragonball Durag” is a low-key love ballad that shows Thundercat talking to a significant other about how he’s doing, more specifically how he looks in his durag. Featuring signature fast-paced bass riffs and retro-sounding toy box synths, Thundercat’s unique and consistent style is shown off on this single.
I’m really excited to see how this full-length effort from Thundercat comes together! I’m sure it’ll be something that’s, at the least, satisfactory to fans and new listeners alike.
