The Strokes Share New Song/Video “Bad Decisions”

The Strokes dropped a new song today entitled “Bad Decisions.” The latest cut off forthcoming album The New Abnormal originally hit the public during the band’s performance at the New Hampshire Bernie Sanders rally.

The song arrives today for streaming along with a new music video. Directed by Andrew Donoho, the visual is stylized like a 70s commercial with the theme being all about cloning your own Strokes, “the hottest band… just one push away” of this big red button. You can clone as many as you want and customize ’em any way you like… that’s quite the cheeky representation of what conversations were like when this band hit the scene and other acts came out in droves trying get in on that Rock revival movement.

As Pitchfork points out, The Strokes are giving a writing credit to Billy Idol and Tony James on this tune for its use of the former’s “Dancing With Myself.”

The Rick Rubin-produced new album The New Abnormal will arrive April 10 via Cult Records/RCA.
