Colombian goddess Kali Uchis has shared her latest song, “Solita.” While she has definitely incorporated Spanish into her work, the Tainy-produced track is Kali’s first bilingual single.
Uchis explains via a press release:
This song is about healing, freedom and embracing the mixed emotions that come with that. I hope my fans feel sexy when they listen to it. I’m so excited to share more.
Those feelings reach their climax when she sings “Bailando aquí sola es mejor que con el diablo” (“I’d rather dance alone than with the devil”) in the chorus. Strong words, but you’ll get it if you’ve ever felt that at some point in your life.
The music has reggaeton drums, but the rest of the production sure sounds more like the brooding Pop that has surged in the last few years.
