Kanye West took some time dropping his Gospel album Jesus Is King but it did gift us a special moment via Jimmy Kimmel Live! The day of the album’s scheduled release it had not yet made it out on all the streaming channels just yet, but that didn’t stop Kanye from saying that it was out during his surprise appearance on Kimmel.
While that wasn’t true at the time, when it did ultimately come out it helped set the stage for Yeezy to take his talents (and his backing band) to the Oculus in Manhattan where he played new track “Closed on Sunday.” The pre-recorded segment was a brilliant win for Kimmel, which had taped the show in New York all week. If you have been wondering what all the hype was about for Kanye’s Sunday Service, here’s a compelling example of what it offers.
