Big Thief have announced their new album, Two Hands and it will arrive October 11 via 4AD. The news comes packaged with the lead single for the band’s fourth album, which is called “Not.”
The press release notes that the new album was recorded days after the U.F.O.F sessions at the Sonic Ranch studio about 30 miles west of El Paso, referring to Two Hands as “the earth twin” while U.F.O.F is “the celestial twin.” The southwestern Sonic Ranch studio was chosen for its vast desert location, while the songs were recorded live with almost no overdubs.
Above you can find the cover art for the new album, and you can stream the new track below.
Says Adrianne Lenker via the press release:
Two Hands has the songs that I’m the most proud of; I can imagine myself singing them when I’m old… Musically and lyrically, you can’t break it down much further than this. It’s already bare-bones.
