Spoon are going to be releasing a new greatest hits album this summer, the Austin band announced today. Entitled Everything Hits at Once, the album will be released July 26 via Matador.
Speaking about the motive behind this hits compilation, leader Britt Daniel said via Facebook:
We’d been considering the idea of this record for a while, years, thinking about our experiences with our own favorite hits records, and last year we decided to finally get after it. Was it an easy task pairing down our recorded output to the confines of one disc? No. Have some ungrateful friends, insiders & journalists already lodged complaints that their favorite Spoon song did not make the cut? Yes.
With this announcement, Spoon have also delivered a stellar new track called “No Bullets Spent.”
