Adam Sandler finally made his way back on the Saturday Night Live stage last night to serve as host for the first time. The storied comedian had some pretty decent sketches like “Sandler family reunion,” but the shining moment was at the end of the episode when he performed his tribute song to the late Chris Farley.
While playing guitar and footage playing in the background, Sandler sang about what made Farley such a force that’s still remembered today, including iconic sketches like “Van Down By The River” to “Chippendales Audition” and “Bill Swerski’s Super Fans.” However, it was the heartfelt second half of the track in which he remembers the other side of Farley and those last moments with him that really made this performance special.
The “Chris Farley Song” was a touching homage to Sandler’s former cast-mate, who passed away back in 1997. Check it out above.
