100 years since the inaugural Copa America was held, the premier men’s national team soccer tournament in South America, Brazil is paying a nod this year to their squad that won that cup back in 1919 by wearing a white kit once again.
A classic polo neck, the white shirt will feature player numbers and details on the sleeves in blue. The Brazilian National Team will debut the 2019-20 Brasil Copa America 100th Anniversary Jersey as part of a special uniform at the first match of the tournament.
This is a bold move. For a bit of a background, Brazil has basically stayed away from wearing a white shirt after the maracanazo, when the team lost the World Cup final at home in the Maracanã to Uruguay as tournament hosts back in 1950 and switched to the iconic verde amarela we know today.
Above all that, this is a nice looking kit. Check it out below.
