J. Cole made good on his promise to release his music video for “Middle Child” today. The clip, which was directed by Mez, has some dark undertones with multiple references to death including mounted heads over the fireplace (one plaque reading “your favorite rapper”) along with a shot of white lady picking up a black face from her local supermarket (as if it’s all readily & conveniently available for consumption).
Seeing Cole riding around the supermarket aisles inside a cart while sitting on a pack of Faygo is pretty legit too.
