Slightly odd, but just as important, news in the Christmas music world…. None other than Queens of the Stone Age have announced their limited edition Xmas single available on 7” vinyl directly from QOTSA.com and for streaming.
The A-side will include a take of the iconic “Silent Night” from leader Joshua Homme with Australian blues singer-songwriter and guitarist C.W. Stoneking. On the opposite side you’ll be able to hear a reading of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” with Brody Dalle, Joshua Homme and their “three merry-making elves.”
The single was recorded during QOTSA’s 2017 tour of Australia in East Fremantle, and it will be released digitally on December 7th. You’ll be able to get the limited edition vinyl on December 14th exclusively HERE.
Proceeds from the single will benefit the Sweet Stuff Foundation, Josh Homme’s nonprofit. The foundation was created by Homme in 2013 to provide assistance to career musicians, recording engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability, and to Support Act, an alliance with a similar mission founded in 1997 in Australia by AMCOS, APRA, ARIA and PPCA.
