Red Bull Music Festival kicked off in Chicago this past Saturday at the newly opened Wintrust Arena and it was nonstop performances from some of G.O.O.D. Music’s current roster. The night kicked off with 070 Shake performing her two Kanye features, “Violent Crimes” and “Ghost Town.” Valee followed up her performance by performing a handful of songs including “Womp Womp” and “Miami.”
The most energetic performance of the night came from Desiigner and it was to no ones surprise. The Brooklyn emcee spent half of his time performing with the crowd and they were into every second of it. Teyana Taylor had to follow up that up and she did not disappoint. My favorite part of her performance was her rendition of “Rose in Harlem.” Pusha T proceeded to give everyone the Daytona experience after Teyana by performing his entire album. Not only did we get to experience the entire album live, but King Push also recited his verse on the remix to Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” to the entire crowds approval.
The headliner for the night hit the stage shortly after 10 p.m. and Nas didn’t waste any time getting into his Kanye-produced album, Nasir. After performing “Adam and Eve,” he took it back to the 90’s by giving the crowd his rendition of his classic “NY State Of Mind.” The legendary emcee continued to perform some of his classics along with his new material and it was a perfect ending to a night full of great performances.
