The 2018-19 NBA City Edition uniforms have been unveiled, bringing a dope collection overall this year. The inspiration for these ranged from Pop culture to team history, and other elements.
Tributes to music icons led to two of the most notable jerseys, those being the Brooklyn Nets and the Minnesota Timberwolves, honoring the Notorious B.I.G. & Prince, respectively. The Nets’ jersey incorporates a multicolor camo print on the side panels, not unlike that iconic Coogi sweater, plus a nod to Biggie’s neighborhood printed above the jock tag.
The T-wolves honor the late Prince, AKA the Purple One, this year in which the Minneapolis icon would have been celebrating his 60th birthday. The “Purple Rain” City Edition uniforms design includes a metallic graphic that replicate the studs on Prince’s jacket, the Wolves lettering mirror the font used on the original Purple Rain album cover, and even the use of white accents represent those legendary ruffled blouses.

OKC honors the American Indian Nations, the 76ers include patriotic details throughout, the Nuggets bring back the rainbow skyline made famous in the 70s, and the Bulls prominently features the city flag across the chest in a sleek black base jersey.
