Chicago’s own Post Animal have shared the music video for their fantastic song (my fave off their debut album) “Ralphie,” the lead single off When I Think Of You In A Castle. The Apple Music exclusive is another DIY delight, this time with a Sci-Fi twist.
The music video follows an intergalactic traveler in a very Earth-y desert who’s trying to find the key to the Oasis, but in this quest he encounters individuals that take him as prisoner as they steal his map to find the key, but not before some other dudes step in that also want a piece. In the fight for the key, they transport to the Oasis, a spot by the shore in which we get the surprise reunion with band co-founder Joe Keery (aka Steve Harrington on Stranger Things). As the press release notes, Keery recorded the album with the band and even provides vocals on “Ralphie,” but he’s taken a lesser role in the band since his acting career took off.
“Oasis is anywhere you can get together with all your buds… Over the last few years a lot has changed for our band and we have learned to really appreciate the time we get to spend with one another. It was great to come full circle and catch up with Joe for this video, and we had a blast doing it.” – Post Animal.
