UK outfit The 1975 have shared their new music video for “TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME.” Streaming the track, it reminded me of a burst of neon colors thanks to that production, and the directorial vision for this video also had color in mind but executed it differently.
Matty Healy, sometimes solo, sometimes accompanied by a diverse cast of people, sometimes making way completely for these individuals to do so alone, sings the track directly into the camera with a backdrop featuring an alternating bold color in each different shot.
It’s cool to see this became an opportunity to showcase people that are not the mainstream examples of video people look like. Check it out above.
“TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME” will appear on The 1975’s forthcoming album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships (Dirty Hit / Interscope).
